This study aims to examine the representation of Banyumasan culture and humanist values in the folktale Panembahan Situmpur Kapiten Kwe Situmpoa by Saeran Samsidi using a literary anthropology approach and hermeneutic method. Folktales as part of oral literature have an important function in representing cultural identity and conveying moral messages to society. In this context, Banyumasan culture is traced through the use of the distinctive Ngapak language as a form of local expression and the presence of religious elements that reflect the outlook on life and spirituality of the local community. In addition, humanist values are analyzed through the actions and behavior of the characters who show a spirit of mutual assistance, solidarity, and concern for others. The findings of this study reveal that the folktale is not only a reflection of local culture and tradition, but also contains universal human values that are relevant to today's life. Therefore, this work has an important value as an educational and reflective media that enriches the local literary treasure and strengthens the cultural identity of the Banyumasan community.
